My students are a very diverse group of children. Approximately 85% of the students are part of the ESL program and have learned English as a second (and sometimes even a third) language. They love to share their experiences from their homelands in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Togo, Liberia, and Dominican Republic and have an incredible eagerness for learning and completing their education. Although many of the students come from extreme poverty and a have a lengthy family history of illiteracy, they come to school with smiles and drive to achieve academic excellence.
