My role as a teacher is to educate my students, but I have been amazed about how much they have taught me. This is my second year teaching art at an inner city public elementary school and I learning new things about this community on a daily basis. Despite most of them coming from economic poverty I am refreshed by the happiness and joy that they have. Our school has 540 students and an 88% low income level. Despite these hurdles, I want to give them the best education. My only hindrance is a low budget.
