We live in a beautiful area of Arkansas-lakes, rivers and mountains surround us. Unfortunately, our beautiful area is plagued by poverty. Poverty brings with it many negative effects in a child's life: lack of food, abuse, drug abuse, and illiteracy in the parents. Through all of these situations the students are still eager to learn; they want to broaden their world knowledge. Many of them use reading as an escape from their home life.

About my class
