My students are bright, driven, and incredibly hard working. They know their goal, and they are itching to reach it. They are excited to read anything new, even when it's only a picture book. After I introduce a new book, they all clamber to be the first to grab it during independent reading time. They also love to take charge of their own learning and are always asking to do more group work. Our school is determined to meet students exactly where they are, and support them in moving forward from that point. Although we do have some technology to help us reach our goals, we do not have many books. The books we do have are not leveled or organized, and are mostly picture books.
