All of my students will have the ability to read these 2019-2020 Sunshine State award-winning books with a full set for our classroom. They are in very high demand in our school and community. Therefore, they are often unavailable for school and public library checkout. For each book they read, they get a dog tag for a necklace, if they read 3 or more they can vote for their favorite, and if they read 5 or more they can go to an end of the year celebration. I'd like to give them an opportunity to see these rewards. My students are eager to read and they are constantly looking for these books. During independent reading time, you can hear a pin drop in my room. Having these books available will give the kids some additional award-winning, grade-level appropriate, sometimes challenging, high-interest materials to choose from.
