Our school is in the suburbs of the Bay Area, in a mostly disadvantaged neighborhood. The students are curious and imaginative, but they don't have money for basic school supplies, let alone the extras. In order to give them basic access to the core curriculum I have to supply the tools for them to succeed. Geometry comes alive when students have hands-on activities to help them learn, and it's these types of activities that pique student interest and pull them in to the world of math and geometry.
