Our school is located in an area of high poverty. As a title 1 school, our students come to us without the advantage of preschool for the most part. Their parents are good, hard working people who want their children to succeed in this technology based society. In spite of many of the parents having to work more than 1 job, well over 80% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. My students are in Kindergarten. There are higher than ever expectations demanded of these students, many of whom are from a population where English is a Second Language. The four Leap Pad Ultras I am requesting will allow my students valuable time during literacy to challenge themselves via this technology.
