The students attend a public school where there aren't enough resources to provide an innovative academic environment to help these kids succeed. The neighborhood consists of low income families who work hard to provide their children with the necessities to survive daily life. These children are kind, warm-hearted and goal-oriented students that have set high standards for themselves to prove that they also can become someone who can make a difference in future generations to come regardless of the hardships they face on a daily basis. The neighborhood is gang-infested and has limited resources to promote positive academic learning. Our school has some technology resources, but classrooms are to share equipment therefore creating a difficult learning environment. Sharing resources with 1200 students and up to 65 staff members makes it difficult to provide students with the best academic learning environment.
