I teach science, social studies, and math to 4th grade students. Over 60% of my students are below the poverty line, meaning they receive breakfast and lunch at a free or reduced price. This percentage is not quite high enough for my school to be declared title 1 and receive additional funding from the government. The parents do what they can to help provide materials, but the school does not have the funds to provide beyond the basic supplies. Those that want to go above and beyond the "basic" need more, which brings me here.
