When students aren't working on projects or computer-based activities they read about health topics or issues. The main source for this is an outdated textbook. It is over 12 years old. My students need to be able to read about current health topics that are relevant to their lives. Not only will students be able to read about current issues in health, they will then discuss these issues at their tables and as a whole class, and even make posters to hang up around the school about particularly interesting or relevant health issues. Being able to make the content interesting and relevant to their lives is essential for keeping students engaged in learning. Being able to utilize Choices health magazine in my classroom will do just that!
