Our school is located in a small mountain town with about 55% of our students on free and reduced meal plans. Their parents are hardworking professionals, and migrant agriculture workers. While some parents can and do donate supplies to the classroom, many just don't have the available resources. My students are very diverse, some are quite advanced, while others are performing 3 or more years below grade level. My students are hardworking, caring, respectful kids. They love to learn and like most students are most interested in science and technology. As a new fifth grade teacher, I lack the resources to provide them with exceptional science and technology based lessons. These students deserve the absolute best.
