The best learning experiences allow students to manipulate their thinking in hands on ways that are meaningful and related to their world. The whiteboards allow all students to showcase their learning in math with grids, graphs, computations or in science as we draw diagrams and charts of our thinking. The books being requested allows students to research those that impacted our lives, to explore the history and process of how our current world and inventions have come to be, and to be challenged with riddles and puzzles. Along with this, the art resources allow students to demonstrate their learning through artistic and creative outlets whether through posters, models, color, artwork, etc. All these things allow students to find the joy of being in school while connecting their learning to their world and finding application to what is being studied.
