My students attend a public elementary school in a low-income inner city neighborhood, and until now they have had to focus their school time primarily on keeping their math and reading abilities up to standards. They are finally going to have a music program this year for the first time in our school's history, and students will be able to explore their artistic talents and creativity while learning about the musical traditions and cultures of their friends and peers. The students are so excited to be getting a music class and the chance to explore this new means of expression.

About my class
