My students represent the world. I am a kindergarten EL (English Learner) teacher. This year my class is a New to English class, which means that all of my students are beginning English speakers. My students come from many countries and speak many different languages at home. Some are refugees from Burma (Myanmar) or Syria. My students face not only a challenging kindergarten curriculum, but learning it in a language that is not their home language. My school is a Title I school, which means that the majority of the students come from high poverty homes.
