I teach at an inner city public middle school in CA. Our student population is predominantly Hispanic and Asian, with over half qualifying for free or reduced lunch. Almost 1/3 of our students are English language learners. I teach 7th and 8th grade Algebra and Algebra Readiness. Student ages range from 12 - 14. They are a new breed of learners, not textbook oriented but are visually and kinesthetically driven. My students are very interested in technology but some lack the resources and exposure at home.
