My students are adventurous and active students in a public elementary school. They are young and impressionable and often remember first experiences. They are eager to learn to read, write, and do arithmetic. At the tender age of 7, they are little sponges who absorb everything from the environments they are exposed to. They are children from all walks of life, some with many experiences, some school is their only experience of the outside world. They deserve nothing but the very best. These children are our future and should be given the best that we can to foster and grow in their learning and relationships. Many come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and are not exposed to different literature at home. My goal is to build of love of regrading in each student who enters my classroom so that they will be able to use reading to create a thirst for their learning.
