Every child needs an outlet from everyday mundane of reading, writing and math. School is supposed to be fun, and sadly if you ask any student, the best part of their day is specials and recess. Regular sensory breaks would help make school and learning fun for kids. Availability of sensory materials would help students express themselves appropriately, at regular intervals within the classroom. They will be aware that an appropriate expression of behavior will result in a desired sensory tangible. Their motivation to complete work and perform desired behavior will increase due to the availability of sensory materials within their reach. This is more of a preventive than a reactive strategy. Students would get to spend more time within the classroom rather than being sent to the office for inappropriate behaviors. This indirectly increases work productivity, self-confidence and feeling of being successful in their abilities.
