My students are beautiful. They are all brilliant, capable, intelligent, motivated, and hardworking. They will all be amazing in their own away. My students are also all on free and reduced lunches. Some of my students do not have a house to live in, food to eat, or an extra uniform to wear each day. My students want to learn, they crave it and they hungrily devour all of the information I give them but they do not have the resources at school or at home to be literate learners. They have grown up with next to nothing and they somehow find a reason to smile each and every day and shine in their own way. They deserve the entire world yet have no idea what it means to experience the beauty in life. My students are strong. My students are brave. My students are resilient. My students matter - help them know that.
