As adults we all don't sit and do our work the same way. Why should we expect students to do that. Every student is different and has different needs. In a flexible classroom students are able to wiggle, swirl, bounce, and sit on the floor if needed. The one thing my classroom is missing is a zone where they can feel a sense of flexible seating but also a meeting area. We do lots of center work and this would offer a space for students to really work as a group and collaborate. Students learn so much from one another. Having a space for just that in my classroom would really open the doors to some great conversations taking place.
