Thank you for taking the time to view my project request of an easel for my first grade students. I would like to be able to provide everything in my power to get these children not only learning to read, but enjoying and engaged in every step of reading. These first grade students come from economic hardships and I would like them to feel they are completely provided for within my classroom. They have families who are supportive but often find it difficult to help in academics because of the language barrier. This project would allow my students to be engaged through mini lessons including shared reading and writing and modeling in mathematics. Without the proper teaching easel last year, (as my first year), it was difficult to create such a powerful mini lesson that my students could visualize right along with me. Therefore, I am in GREAT need of an easel that would help both my students and I!
