My students attend a low-income high needs middle school in Missouri. Although our students are excited about the beginning of the year, transitioning from summer into the year can be very challenging. One way to help them is to start the year off in a welcoming environment where students can get excited about what they will do that year. This is especially important in my social studies classroom, where students envision the class as being full of boring historical details. Your donations this summer and fall will help me create that welcoming environment to motivate my students.
