These materials will make a world of difference. Currently we do not have hands on materials, we simply have a science book. I have a Science corner where kids can go and explore science books and small things like rocks, leaves, and animals; however, I do not have hands on materials to enhance their learning in Science. Oftentimes, hands on experiences are the ones that propel you in a direction of interest. My hope is these materials support and encourage their curiosity and help them to see how they can be a scientist or at least solve problems in the world using scientific concepts. These materials will provide interest based exploration that will provide opportunities to ask more questions. The materials will encourage problem solving, reading/research and writing.
