My classroom is made entirely of children coming from financially disadvantaged families living in poor neighborhoods who struggle everyday with providing the basic needs for their children. Most are either immigrants or are first generation of immigrant families. Some start preschool not knowing the language, speaking sometimes dialect having to face a culture shock in a new and intimidating environment. My passion is to make my classroom as much as possible, a haven for this disadvantaged children in which they can be themselves and find an oasis in a rich, loving, and nurturing atmosphere. My goal, is for them to be socially, cognitively, physically, and emotionally prepared to become successful individuals in a challenging and competitive society.
