Giving as little as $5 dollars is giving one student the chance to get the resources and great educational experiences and tools that they might not ever have a chance too. My students come from a very low income area and 95% of our students and their families fall below the poverty line. Many of my students safe place is within the walls of our school. They come to school with such passion and excitement to learn each day even after the hardships that many have endured each night. Reading and literature is a struggle for my students as their family only speak and understand Spanish and is hard to get support at home. While my students struggle in language they are becoming very strong in math as the concepts are universal within any language. My students seem to learn better when they are able to manipulate and explore the math concepts rather than just following along out of a math book.
