My students are in third grade. The school is located in a town adjacent to a military base. There are many students from different social, geographical, and economic backgrounds. This keeps our classrooms very diverse. Our students not only have to deal with the normal problems of being children, they also deal with the constant threats of uncertainty that military life brings. Often we find ourselves playing several different roles outside of the traditional job of "teacher". Our school is a Title One school and many of the students receive free or reduced lunch.
