My students live in a very low socioeconomic area. Eighty-seven percent of the school is on free or reduced lunch. These kids don't have many extra things. However they are fun and full of life. They love having the opportunity to be hands-on learners. They don't have books at home unless they take them from the library. Many of them only have one parent. Unfortunately these kids have hard lives. I would love to teach them that they can rise above the circumstances in front of them now.
