My students are mostly boys this year. They are busy and bright. They are excited about learning and school. My students come from a very poverty ridden area in Brooklyn. They come to me from foster homes and homeless shelters. Many of my students have a parent who is or has been in the penal system. My students come for breakfast and lunch daily. Their parents can not always afford to put a healthy meal on the table. A staggering 98% of our student body participate in the free school breakfast and lunch program. My students are amazing. They are always cheerful and always very excited to come to school to learn new things.
