Not just a public school but a melting pot of cultures, economic conditions and family life situations. Despite their lives outside of the school walls, these students have hearts of gold and have high hopes and dreams to help others in need, even when some of them are in similar situations. Students take what they learn in my class to heart and often I ask, "What would you do?" Their ideas are amazing but beyond the budget I have. In addition, they are incorporating skills for lifelong learning though such a project, including character development, goal setting, community outreach and basic sewing skills.
