Unlike typical school athletic programs and extracurricular activities, where students get to engage in competitions several times in a season with local teams, FRC competitions are few and far between and, with few exceptions, often require teams to travel much more than a typical club or sport. We make every effort to never turn a student away and your support helps us continue to do so and grow at the same time. It’s hard to overestimate the power of inspiration, and being able to travel to participate in competitions is the best way to inspire students to become actively engaged in our program. Removing the barriers of entry into technology and business fields is among the great agents of social change, and being able to provide all students, regardless of economic background, a chance to be inspired by FIRST robotics can help us engage a greater diversity of students in robotics.
