My students are amazing! They overcome poverty, gang recruitment, and barriers that most of us can't imagine. They do it with a smile on their face and a thirst for learning. Our school attempts to break the cycle of poverty by providing a 21st century education. This means we start with the basics and progress up to problem-based learning. Kids study real-world problems and use what they learned in previous classes to solve them. They even present their solutions to community members. We hope our students will use these experiences to grow up and make a difference in their neighborhoods.
