One of the most special qualities each student brings to his or her classroom community is their uniqueness. No two students are exactly the same. They have different backgrounds, interests, and needs. Diversity is something that we celebrate in our classroom, and that includes diversity in learning. This year, my fifth graders have been exploring different areas around the classroom to find places and ways they can learn, focus, and complete their work in the way that is best for them. My options are currently limited, and I hope to reach more students by providing more seating options for them. My students will be able to use the stability balls and wobble stools while working at tables. The flexibility of the ball will allow for more comfort and wiggle room rather than the hard plastic chairs. Our class can't wait to share the great work we will be able to do with our new seating options!
