My students have been taken out of their home schools because of behavior. In most cases their behavior is a reflection of being behind academically. So many times they have the attitude that it is better to appear bad rather than done. As my students come to me I have to convince them that they are not dumb and don't have to be bad. Slowly they learn to trust that I am not going to leave them in the dust and give up on them. By being patient and using lots of technology I have been able to watch students blossom and open up to the possibilities that education can really take them places.
