When students are being asked to sit at their areas for extended periods of time due to COVID-19 restrictions, having flexible seating will allow the kids stationary movement. Ball chairs, lap desks, and wobble cushions will allow for movement and muscle activation, which can improve attention and learning. Having an alternative to the everyday student chair allows children to reach their full potential, especially for students with sensory disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or students with a strong need to fidget. Having an outlet for movement allows students to direct their energy in a positive way.
