About my class

Distance learning is a struggle for students with special needs and their families. My students need materials at home to enable them to be more successful in reaching their goals while we participate in distance learning. Online platforms do meet the needs of all learners in my classroom. They need math and literacy centers like we use in the classroom. They also need manipulatives to help them gain a concrete understanding of new concepts. This project will provide my students access to learning materials that meet their individual needs. Teachers pay teachers has numerous literacy and math centers I will print and laminate for each student. I will deliver these to their homes along with the manipulatives and other matetials to support their learning. I will be demonstrating to parents how to use the various materials as well as helping them set up technology to support one on one instructional segments where I will teach the new material to students. While all students have been impacted by the pandemic and distance learning, our students with special needs are struggling to maintain skills previously learned and many are not making growth toward their IEP goals. This project will help prevent regression in my students.
