The use of running trackers is almost a daily activity in our club, especially after school and on weekends. Using the trackers, students will be able to collect data they themselves produce. The watches will be used for team practice and to record students' own personal runs. The trackers will not only allow me to see exactly what they are doing, but also provide an easy place for them to show and review their hard work. Even though the students are great about recording their runs on their phones, this is distracting for many of my students who are focusing on pot holes, small animals, traffic and other obstacles they come into contact with while running the streets of Philadelphia, PA. They miss important cues from either myself or other running leaders. By having pedometer watches, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning! By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student running distance and speed but you will ultimately help to increase their love for running.
