When people use the term progress monitoring, they are often referring to GOM (general outcomes measurement), and in particular CBM (curriculum-based measurement) with individuals and groups. More people are needed for progress monitoring and that has also become part of my job description. Progress monitoring is important in RTI because it provides teachers with the data they need to make decisions about whether students should be moved between the different tiers of learning. Because of the academic learning being affected by COVID-19, progress monitoring plays an important role in assessing students' academic and social-emotional behavior progress, examining rate of improvement, and evaluating the effectiveness of instruction intervention. Because of the lack of devices in our school, I need a Chromebook that I can take with me to the different classrooms to help progress monitor because of the increasing need of RTI in the different age groups.
