Hello, I am a basic skills teacher who is always looking for ways to better my student's education. Our school is considered to be in a lower economic grouping, but the students are rich of heart and soul. Like so many children in today's society, the students in my classroom are more tactile and kinesthetic learners than they are visual or auditory learners. For this reason, they strive when learning involves a "hands on" approach. Such an approach does indeed motivate them to read, and it lends itself to a "Constructivist" view; whereby, the students follow their own interests and/or needs... a great way to learn!
