My classroom focus for this year is exploration of Science and Technology- specifically making Science come to "life" by giving students the ability to interact with the scientific world around them. I provide weekly independent labs for students to get hands on experience with different scientific concepts. I have even been able to maintain this through eLearning with "science in bag" kits that are sent home. The kids LOVE them. I am looking to expand my project to include electricity! My dream is to enable my students to build their own radios after learning about electric currents, circuits, and different forms of energy. This project will also tie into a literacy unit about Tesla and Edison using the book "The Electric War" by Mike Winchell.
