My students learn best through the use of visuals which is why I have selected some materials for following directions with simple to use manipulatives. My students will be able to practice difficult concepts (in, on, under, in front of, behind...) while using bright and colorful objects with which they are familiar. I've chosen 6-step sequencing picture cards to help build my students understanding of receptive sequencing and expressive story retell. I currently have 3-4 scene picture stories, but would love to increase the difficulty level for some of my higher students. Finally, I've chosen several comprehension activities that will benefit all age ranges. Even though they are specified for K-3, the students I work with are struggling and these levels will be sufficient up through 5th grade. I can use these materials to build vocabulary and comprehension skills for students who continue to fall behind when the classroom curriculum moves too quickly.
