We have 54 second grade students in our classrooms. Due to the ruralness or our area, many children are not able to go to the library or enjoy learning experiences during the summer time. Because of the low socioeconomic needs of our community, some of our students regress and begin the new school year behind what they were when they ended for the summer. We are hoping that by sending the students books in the mail, those children will be able to keep on track and even increase their reading level to begin the new school year. The child can enjoy a special book that is his/her own and read it over and over again.

About my class
