The materials used will help make a difference in how students learn. This gives them an opportunity to choose how they will benefit best from being able to choose if they prefer to stand and complete work or sit in a chair that will accommodate them if they have trouble keeping still. This provides flexibility and options instead of sitting in one place for long periods of time. Based on research and testimonies from other teachers, giving kids the option to choose seating helps them learn better, they are more comfortable in the environment, and willing to complete tasks given.
