My students are 5 and 6 year old Kindergrtners who enjoy reading or being read to. My students come from various economic backgrounds, some of whom are not exposed to books at their level in the home. Some of these children do not have anyone at home who will read to them. Since the students have not mastered reading fluently, I have set up a listening center so that they can hear the spoken word as the book is being read.
