My middle school students are so eager to learn and expand their knowledge. Like so many at their age, a great number struggle with reading, simply because they haven't developed a love of books. My school district is 100% free lunch funded because of the high poverty levels in our area. I feel the only way some of my students will be able to experience the world beyond our beautiful Appalachian mountains is to travel through books and use their imaginations. In addition, I have several special needs students that, with modifications, can enjoy reading just as much as their peers. My main concern daily, is finding new ways to engage my students in reading. No donation is too small. I urge you to take a strong look at my school when choosing a donation. Our need is great and our appreciation is boundless.
