Flexible or alternative seating lets students customize their learning environment. This year will be the 3rd year that I let students choose their spots. Most of the non-traditional spots to sit and surfaces to work on in my 3rd grade classroom are old and repurposed. Anything that is new has been purchased by me for very little money. My students would be so excited to have six new seating options that are purposefully designed to give students comfort and balance. My classroom is organized, safe, child-focused, and meaningful. The students enjoy being in charge of their learning locations, being happy while learning.
