I teach alternative middle school students in a partnership program with Milwaukee Public Schools through Lad Lake.Org. The ratio of teacher to student is 1:10. These are students that have been temporarily expelled from a Milwaukee Public School to learn better social behaviors and eventually be reintegrated to an MPS school. I have done much with technology in my past teaching experiences including having a classroom Wiki. I feel for my students in particular the knowledge that I have through course work and experience coupled with their needs, that technology presented in this manner is engaging and interactive. I have had much success in the past with teaching with technology and sorely miss in this environment. I feel this is a crucial moment in my students' lives and that they need to learn to bond, have marketable skills for jobs and learn basic skills. My hope is to create a classroom Wiki and have the students have a sense of pride in their accomplishments and work.
