My students come from homes where the poverty rate is extremely high. At our school 85% of the students qualify for free and reduced lunch. We have 60 % second language learners. My classroom has been established to give these students extra exposure and practice to acquire literacy skills. I am hoping for materials that will give these students the opportunity for a solid foundation. Our goal is that they have the skills by the end of kindergarten so that they can be successful the rest of their academic years.
