My students embody what it means to be hungry for knowledge. They are the most insightful, curious, and capable group of first graders I could imagine. Each and every student comes from a unique family background, including various cultures and languages, bringing with him or her an individually energetic attitude about learning. The school in which they attend has a network of supportive teachers and administrators, but lacks some of the resources that schools in more affluent communities have the privilege of interacting with.
