I want to create a culture of READERS in our 7-12 building by offering a BOOK CLUB. By having individual copies of these three books, students will be able to highlight, comment, read and reread as they discuss with other students. This will help them develop the intrinsic desire to read because they will see the connections they can make both with these great stories and with others who have read them. Making connections through student-led book club discussions will create life-long readers. Research shows that reading for pleasure leads to an increase in the desire to read. The camaraderie of a book club will help develop these life-long readers!
