As a child I was lucky enough to have a mom that didn't work and a family that loved to read. Most children today do not have that benefit. In today's economy, many families have two working parents and little time to spend reading together. Some students begin school with little background and several steps behind many of their classmates. These are the students that I spend my day helping - the students that aren't reading at the same level as their classmates. It's my job to catch them up and help them to continue to learn and grow academically. Updating my classroom supplies helps benefit my student's learning by making them more excited to learn. Please consider helping my students!
