The population of student is Special Education (Resource Specialist Program) and Low Income, they are significantly behind grade level on their reading, academic, and social skills. The students all come from economically challenged and diverse families. The materials I have chosen are not only appropriate grade level, but have some relevance and / or could stimulate interest in having my students participate more in their school environment. The students all need to put more time and effort into school, and the materials I am requesting will help motivate and allow for a more inviting academic environment. It will also improve the lives of these disadvantaged children by allowing the use of materials and activities they might not be exposed to otherwise. My goal is to help build and nurture the love of school that these children may be lacking elsewhere in their lives. By immersing children in an integrated world
